Don’t hide your face!

I know. You’d literally prefer to do anything, even fundraising (!) rather then show your face on stories.

Why is it such a big deal?

Showing your face on stories or video is a social risk. At worst you’re certain you’re going to stumble on your words and forget how to string words together & at best you’re opening yourself up to criticism & judgment.

When you put yourself out there people will have thoughts.

So now that I’ve scared you even more,

why should you take that risk??

By taking the social risk you’re telling your audience that connecting with them and sharing your mission is so important that your willing to risk the judgment.

What’s so incredible is that it makes YOUR AUDIENCE more likely to take a risk in return. Whether it be a small one,  like commenting on your post or voting in your poll, or a bigger risk like reaching out to get involved in your cause!

Literally every-time I post an Instastory I get at least one message inquiring about my coaching. It’s amazing what simply showing your face can do for trust and relationship building.

Now how do you go from being completely uncomfortable with the idea, to putting out your first story?

Choose a topic that you’re passionate with and aligns with your mission. Then, commit to recording a 1 min video of yourself about this topic for 10 consecutive days without actually posting. The first day you might find it hard to string a coherent sentence together with the camera on, that’s totally normal. But by day 3-4 you’ll start to feel that you’re getting somewhere, and by day 5-6 you might feel ready to post!

Are you up for the challenge?
