Should you share your personal life on your nonprofit account?

Letting your audience in, allows them to know, like and trust you.

Chances are if they don’t, they're not going to be very receptive to your cause & will hesitate to get involved.

Now before you start taking pictures of your breakfast to share, let’s break down what personal can mean.

For most organizations, the best route is getting personal ABOUT the professional.

You don’t need to share your workout or your outfit of the day, but you should share the behind the scenes of your work and personal challenges or wins.

Tell us how that meeting went with a new donor, the accomplishment that you didn’t believe would be possible and show us what it really takes to put that event or program on.

There ARE organizations and brands that master how to share everything (breakfast & all) but you really want to be sure that your audience is looking for that before you go all in.

Remember your content should do two things

->Attract the right type of audience
->Repel the wrong type of audience

So when you're sharing personal content check-in and make sure the RIGHT audience would love it.

In my experience, people that love your cause will love to see you get personal about your cause.
