Should you post on a public holiday?
Do people really need to see another happy Labor Day post in their feed today?
Holiday posts ARE a great way to foster a sense of community, but before you run to post your obligatory Happy Labor Day post here’s a couple of do’s & don’t that might be helpful!
DO use an image that says Happy (insert holiday here) when you intentionally create a beautiful and creative visual that your audience will want to share.
DON’T use an image that says Happy (insert holiday here) if you post really infrequently.
It leaves a clear sign that you're inactive if your most recent posts show a happy 4th of July in September.
DO create a unique & personal post that shows how the holiday impacts or connects with your mission.
DON’T post a generic caption that says happy (insert holiday here) from (insert organization)
If your post doesn’t have anything unique about it how about make it a story instead of it living on your feed?
DO post early so you're one of the first holiday-related posts your audience sees.
DON’T wait until midday when most people have seen enough holiday-related posts
If you’ve posted with any of these mistakes in the past, or even today, there’s always an upcoming holiday where you can try these tips. Tap save it for next time!
Oh, & before I forget, Happy Labor Day from Pedal! Hope you get a chance to relax, your work will still be there tomorrow, I promise.
