How to grow your nonprofit following on social media?

This is one of the most common questions I get asked & I get why. More followers means a bigger platform to share your message and mission and it means you have more people you can motivate to take actions like volunteering & donating.

But here’s the truth. You will never grow a meaningful following if you're focused on chasing numbers. The reason? Success & growth will come when you start to see every follower as an actual person not a number.  Every person in your audience is someone who raised their hand and said I want to hear what you have to say. I want to be part of this community, I want to build a relationship with you.

What are you doing with your current audience? Are you building relationships? Are you adding value to their life? Are they actively engaged? Are they taking action offline as a result?

If you’re not there yet then you don’t need a bigger audience, you need to connect, add value, and build relationships with the audience you already have.

*And the cherry on top? When you start doing that your content and audience will start bringing in new followers automatically!
